This vehicle was the first mount for SWTOR to use the new "lazy follow" component I had asked the engineering team for. That animation component allowed me to have rotational delays on individual components of vehicles, such as the central turbine section of this mount. As the player banks the mount the central turbine section lags behind, simulating mass and physics.
The inspiration for this vehicle was the Cobb Vanth sidesdaddle speeder from The Mandalorian.
I modeled this in 3DSMax, textured it in Substance Painter, and assembled it all within our engine with a mount flourish mode where the turbine spins faster and the vectoring flaps collapse tighter and the thruster flames increase in intensity.
